Dow Museum of Historic Houses - Nine houses comprise on of the largest collections of publicly available historic houses on their original foundation in the Southeast. Explore period decorated houses, galleries, courtyards and gardens nestled together on an acre of historic downtown St. Augustine. The houses were built between 1790-1910 yet the area is listed on 1572 maps of St. Augustine showing over four centuries of occupation by a variety of European settlers and Native America peoples. The museum is self-guided with occasional guided tours offered.

Ximenez-Fatio House Museum - Be a daytime guest in one of Florida's oldest hotels and see how travelers of the early nineteenth century relaxed in sub-tropical comfort. The Museum House, a National Historic Landmark, was constructed of native coquina ca. 1798 and is one of St. Augustine's most authentic historic sites. Today it is interpreted as an elegant Boarding House, and on your guided tour you will enter guest's rooms such as the Sea Captain's and the Seminole War Officer's and the elegant Dining Room. You will also see a meal being prepared in the original 18th century detached kitchen. The Visitors Center displays the Caravaca Cross, a seventeenth century archeological treasure, and other artifacts of the Ximenez-Fatio House's history. Sweet figs and zesty oranges grow on the site and yummy marmalades made from them are sold in the gift shop.
